Latin American diplomats were acquainted with the activities of “Tamiz Shahar” JSC

Ambassador of Peru to Azerbaijan, Mrs. Maria Milagros Castanon Seoane and Charge d’Affaires of Embassy of Chile in Azerbaijan, Gabriel Hara Maldonado visited Balakhani Industrial Park and Baku Waste to Energy Plant.
Etibar Abbasov, Chairman of the Executive Board of “Tamiz Shahar” JSC informed guests about activities of the organization, work carried out in the field of waste management and development of “green economy”, favorable conditions created for entrepreneurs in Balakhani Industrial Park. It was noted that Balakhani Industrial Park have 7 residents engaged in the field of recycling of used motor oil, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard products, waste plastic materials and sponge wastes. More 9 residents will start operating on 11 production areas in a short time.
Afterwards guests also informed about the role of the plant in reducing negative impacts on the environment. It was mentioned that it was built on the 4th generation technology is one of the most contemporary enterprises in Eastern Europe. Plant has annual capacity of 500 thousand tons of municipal solid waste, 10 thousand tons of medical waste and it can reproduce 231.5 million kWh electricity per year. It is possible to cover the energy requirement of a city of 200 thousand residents with annually produced electricity of the plant.
The diplomats expressed satisfaction with the work carried out to develop “green economy” and highly appreciated activities of “Tamiz Shahar” JSC in this field.
