On the occasion of the International Coastal Cleanup Day the next clean-up action was held.

The traditional coastal clean-up action dedicated to the International Coastal Cleanup Day was held with the joint organization of IDEA Public Union, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and Tamiz Shahar OJSC on September 18.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, more than 100 young volunteers and representatives of partner organizations joined the activities organized under the slogan "Keep the costs clean" on Bilgah beach.
The main purpose of the event was to promote cleanliness on the seafront, to prevent coastal dumps from polluting household waste, and to involve all young people in fighting for the protection of the marine environment.
The participants of the clean-up action equipped with the necessary sanitary supplies collected more than 4 tonnes of waste from the beach. They identified the most commonly observed waste after sorting out collected ones. In order to make the waste collection process more efficient, specific equipment has also been involved in the area. Afterward, the waste was sent to the Balakhani Material Recovery Facility by special vehicles.
IDEA Public Union, which pays special attention to public awareness campaigns, regularly organizes such clean-up actions with local and international partners on the Caspian shores, as well as in the Kura and other rivers in order to preserve, enhance, and protect the Caspian Sea bioresources.
Taking into account the negative impact of waste, including its damage to biodiversity, IDEA Public Union and “Tamiz Shahar” OJSC call on everyone to stop pollution of the Planet and to take care of the environment.
