Illegal dumpsites were cleaned

41 illegal dump sites, larger than 200 sq m each, have been identified in 8 districts of Baku (Surakhani, Sabail, Sabunchu, Binagadi, Yasamal, Khazar Khatai and Karadag) by experts of Tamiz Shahar JSC and international consulting company engaged in Integrated Solid Waste Management Project carried out jointly by the Ministry of Economic Development and the World Bank.
As a result of the cleaning process of the unauthorized dump sites covering about 160 hectares of lands, 483 thousand tons of waste from these dumpsites were collected and transported to Balakhani landfill and disposed according environmental demands by “Tamiz Shahar” JSC.
