The road is being constructed over the lake in Baku

Complex rehabilitation process is being carried out in Boyukshor Lake. The length of the lake is 10km, the width is 2 km and the depth is 2.3 m. 14 600 cubic meters wastewater is discharged into the lake per day. The main contamination sources are oil products and wastewater. The rehabilitation process will be done in two phases. 300 ha area will be restored till 2015. A dam will be installed in the north of the lake. This dam will prevent oil-contaminated water. 6-lane highway will be constructed on the western part of the lake. The length of the road is 1570 m and the width is 34 m. This road will connect Ziya Bunyadov Avenue with Balakhany-Binagadi highway.
