French Ambassador visited Baku Waste to Energy Plant

Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Ms. Aurelia Bouchez and Embassy delegates got acquainted with the work process at Baku Waste to Energy Plant.
Etibar Abbasov, Chairman of Executive Board of “Tamiz Shahar” JSC provided information about the activities of the company and role of Baku Waste to Energy Plant on reduction of negative impacts to the environment. It was mentioned that, plant built with 4th generation technology is one of the most contemporary plants of its kind in Eastern Europe. The annual capacity of the plant is 500 thousand tons of municipal solid waste, 10 thousand tons of medical waste and it can reproduce 231 million kWh electricity per year. It is possible to cover the energy requirement of a city of 300 thousand residents with annually produced electricity of the plant.
Afterwards, guests watched a short film about building process and performance of the plant.
Ms. Aurelia Bouchez highly appreciated activities of the Plant and emphasized great potential to expand collaboration between Azerbaijan and France.
