Israeli Ambassador visited “Tamiz Shahar” JSC

Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dan Stav, and other embassy officials visited “Tamiz Shahar” JSC.  The guests went to Baku Waste to Energy Plant and Balakhani Industrial Park.
Chairman of the Executive Board of “Tamiz Shahar” JSC, Etibar Abbasov briefed on the company’s activities, the work performed towards the development of the non-oil industry in the country, and opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors in the industrial parks and zones. It was noted that 5 residents operate in the field of recycling motor oils, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard products, plastic materials as well as sponge wastes in Balakhani İndustrial Park. Ten more registered residences on 12 different production areas are likely to start operating in the near future.
During the meeting, the role of Waste to Energy Plant in reducing environmental impacts was underlined. This 4th generation plant is among the most modern facilities of Eastern Europe. The plant has the capacity to incinerate 500 thousand tonnes of municipal waste, 10 thousand tonnes of medical waste, as well as generate 231.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Electricity generated in the plant throughout the year makes it possible to supply the demands of the city with a population of 300,000 people. Dan Stav expressed satisfaction with the work “Tamiz Shahar” JSC has done for the growth of the non-oil sector in the country.
