Consultants were selected within the Integrated Solid Waste Managemnet Project

4 consultants selected through international tender competition within the Integrated Solid Waste Management Project started to implement assignment tasks.
The contract was signed with the Turkish firm “Ecodenge” for implementation of consultancy services in Strategic and sector restructuring.
According to these services it is intended to prepare a 20 years development strategy for solid waste management for the Greater Baku Area and a strategic restructuring plan for ”Tamiz Shahar” JSC. In addition, analytical work on population projection, existing waste management system, waste characterization survey, institutional and financial analysis, tariff study and legal framework is planned.
In order to provide management assistance for the implementation of consultancy services according to the contract signed with the British company “Integrated Skills” it will be provided management assistance to ”Tamiz Shahar” JSC to maintain a modern Solid Waste Management Company with high quality standards and to form future activities.
According to the contract signed with Greek company “Harress Pikel Consult AG” for the implementation of consultancy services for rehabilitation and/or closure of the waste disposal facilities including Balakhani Landfill, it is intended to improve waste management system and reduce the adverse environmental impacts of solid waste in the Greater Baku Region by carrying out the design for rehabilitation and/or closure of the waste disposal facilities in the Greater Baku Area including Balakhani Landfill.
Furthermore, it was signed the contract with the Azerbaijani company “ACEP” for the implementation of consultancy services as a result of rehabilitation and/or closure of the waste disposal facilities in the Greater Baku Area including Balakhani Landfill by carrying out the environmental impact assessment. According to services provided by company it will support improvement of the waste management system and reduce the adverse environmental impacts of solid waste in the Greater Baku Region by carrying out the environmental impact assessment of the proposed project components and developing the management plan.
