President Ilham Aliyev acquainted with the complex restoration project of Zigh Lake

The Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev reported about the works done within the scope of the complex restoration of Zigh Lake to the Head of the State. The project is implemented according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On additional measures for improvement of ecological situation of Zigh Lake, its protection and usage” dated on October 15, 2014. The Ministry of Economy and Industry was assigned to the implementation of this project. The protection of the lake has been provided and waste discharging has been prevented in a short period of time. It is planned to eliminate sources of contamination, useless oil wells and other sources, to discharge treated wastewater in order to balance water level, to dispose bottom sediments within the scope of the project. The lake will be restored to its natural course. International consulting companies will be involved for preparing a detailed project. The management and protection of the lake and its entire organizational and economical works have been assigned to “Tamiz Shahar” JSC.
